Went out last night around 5:30. It took about 1.5hrs by train. I was using bluetooth headphones. Made a couple of short calls to make sure I was going to the right place. Stayed out about 4hrs took train home again, browsers alittle on the way home while playing more music. Met more freinds on the way home and had a couple more beers. Headphone paired to N900 all night. Walking home and battery totally flat, N900 switched itself off. So really 3hrs ish of music play back, a couple of short calls and 20mins of browsing. Battery life can't really be much worst than this, can it.

it might be something else running in the background sucking your battery, use battery graph and conky to figure what it is, mine last about 2 days without charging on normal use.

Actually, although it seems abnormal, you must also remember those bluetooth headsets suck battery...

Purchased a new case which does not cover 3.5mm socket today. So I'll give it a try in the next few days to see if its the bluetooth sucking the power.

also, make sure that: Under settings>locations, un-tick the 2 boxes. And remove the: Face-book & weather forecast widgets from the desktop.
this might help you as well in saving some amount of the battery.

I don't have them installed any more, just an app showing CPU and mem.

mmmmm...how about the wi-fi & Bluetooth. Are they on.
Try avoid any application which try to up-date automatically.

wi-fi not set to auto connect. Bluetooth was enabled and paired to the headphone and no IM services running. Music player was open but stopped.
