If you use OTA update, nothing will be deleted.

If you reflash your phone by maemo flasher or OVI/NSU, then:

Content that is not in home folder is lost. that would mean all applications binaries and application data files get lost(/opt/). All customizations to desktop will get deleted, custom themes and fonts, menu configuration and network settings will get cleared. However if application writes configuration in home folder, it stays there.
Pictures, Videos, Contacts, SMS are stored in home folder.

Thanks for the info. can you inform if you had to overwrite the titan-kernal or de-instal and install again.

    cheers

Please. You got plentiful of warnings that the update would wipe all personal data before you pressed "Proceed."

Please buy an Iphone/Droid/whatever, we won't miss you.

    - Ovi Suite support
    - Ovi Music Store (via web browser apparently)
    - Performance improvements

Other browsing I've done brings up a pulse audio driver update and other benefits.

Just upgraded. It seems faster and less prone to swap. Mail client seems faster also...

Yes you have to! Or you got bootloop.. then you can load that power-kernel back.
