It's not a Xournal issue. It's something that we all installed that caused that error.
I removed a bunch of stuff from my N900 and Xournal is now working fine.
Anyway, I was thinking to release a new version to Extras-devel and have it promoted to Extras.
So I need to add this Page Next/Prev thingy and possibly a Jump to.
For the Prev/Next I am thinking to do it like this:
One presses the Hand to enter the Move mode. The Undo/Redo buttons change icon (two arrows) and they act as go next/prev page.
What do you guys think about this?
I am sorry there'll be no gestures, don't have time for them and I will try to add them at a later stage when the Qt version is ready.
About the Jump To (or Goto Page)... mmm dunno
Ideas?
Yeah, that would work. Have the icons change and/or light up...
I dunno. In my usage scenario, I'd probably only have a couple of pages, which means you wouldn't need a goto button. (If you have *that* many pages of scribbled notes, maybe you need to review your organization or note-taking methodology... )
I was going to ask about the eraser in the notes mode suggestion, but it looks like that iconbar is full up...
So when you click on the Hand button, there will be a "new" toolbar where the buttons on the right of the hand would become:
+ Add page after the current
- Delete current page
-> Goto next page
<- Goto prev page
<dunno the icon yet> Goto page #
(in Hand mode there will be no Undo/Redo/Share/Color button)
If you feel you need more options in this mode, I may switch to a toolbar with something like:
< Back button
+ Add page after the current
- Delete current page
-> Goto next page
<- Goto prev page
<dunno the icon yet> Goto page #
and there's space for whatever you may think useful in this mode among:
New page before
New page after
New page at end
Also I am trying to figure out how to show a vertical bar of icons. Once I figure this out you will be able to tap on the Pen as usual and start drawing, tap on the Pen again and this vertical bar of icons will appear to select, for example, Pen thickness or Draw straight lines.
Same for possible other icons that may have several options associated with them (like the Eraser)
Now that I think about it, this way I can "fix" the Color button as well. First tap would show this vertical bar with a few selected colors + an icon to show the Color Selector... like that.
Or would it make the Color Selector too far away ?
