Media Player is picking up all my sound files from installed Scumm and dosbox games as an album!

So when I play my FM Transmitter on shiffle it picks up these sounds!

If I delete the sounds - the game files do not work!

Any solutions?

Install tracker-cfg from the repositories and exclude the directory from the tracker process.

There are guides on how to do it manually if needed be, but tracker config is the way to go.

Done exaclty that - added them in the NoWatchDirectory

I then delete the album file with them on in my Media Player - plug my phone into my PC and put the sound files back into the game folders

However the damn album with my game files appears again in my Media Player!

After adding to un-watch directory, you need to reset the index, because they have been indexed aready:

tracker-processes --hard-reset

in terminal, as user.

After that, start Images or Media Player to hint the tracker to go at it again.

I have restarted tracker ( thats reset the index right? )

Where do I do a tracker process - hard reset?

And in terminal as user??

the tracker-cfg program has an option from top menu bar to rebuild database.

always found that does the trick, but takes ages and eats battery..

Will it cause any problems - when I select rebuild databases it says are you sure you want to remove databases?

What are the implications?

Dont think so - just sound files which seem to be from the games Future Wars and Broken Sword

Open up terminal and type:

tracker-processes --hard-reset

(note it's processes).

No worries. What it does is remove the tracker database and re-build it, making it synchronized and saving you the time.

Also, if you have tracker-cfg application, use the menu bar, it does the same. Don't worry, it's pretty much unbreakable and, even if it does, it can be rebuilt. It does not delete the files.

Use whatever way you want. I just figured the terminal is easier and faster.

* Go to menu
* Choose X Terminal
(a window appears that is titled X Terminal)
* type:
tracker-processes --hard reset
or
tracker-processes -r
(it's the same thing)

Now close the window and start Images or Media Player to re-build all databases.
