the n900 can be OCed up to 1200 Mhz without problem, more is dangerous, mine is running every time at 1ghz and no problem, no over heat (38°C)

Sent mine in to the Alabama Center too. Keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy response too.

anecdotes appreciated. (we're over 1700 posts deep, so if I missed it my bad).
As I recall, this happened twice to Texrat himself, and at least one other of the Chosen Ones.

The external charging thing is NOT a bit of a pain. It's EASIER and QUICKER and MORE CONVENIENT.

Maybe I'm the only one who's ever started to leave the house and glanced at my N900 as said "oh )(*&)! My battery is almost out!

If you have an external charger, you've already charged your spare and you just switch batteries.

If you DON'T have an external charger, you won't be able to use your N900 for a few hours. Which is better?

Got my replacement n900 the other day. All is well. My only concern with swapping batteries everyday is what happens when the back comes loose from taking it off daily. The back must be on for some things to work correctly. What we need is an induction charger. That would solve everything.

To all those who have received a brand new n900... did they send you the unit itself minus the battery/stylus/back cover? Or did they send you the whole entire unit, brand new in retail packaging? Just curious because if its brand new in the packaging, with more parts, that would be sweet.

They send you just the unit itself and it usually just comes with the stylus no back cover or battery but my replacement yesterday actually came with the back cover.

Have you actually had problems with taking the back off? I must have taken the back off my N900 a thousand times, with no problems. I also had no problems doing the same with my N810 and my N800.

I have found that my external charger takes ages to charge. The main problem with external charger that I had with my N900 before I sent it to Nokia was that 90% of the time when I took out the battery to replace it with the spare the clok and date settings would be reset. So had to reset them like every single day and also meant I could no longer use my N900 as my alarm.
