So had to reset them like every single day and also meant I could no longer use my N900 as my alarm.
Let's assume that your external charger takes 8 hours to charge. So what? Mine takes far less time than that, but if worst came to worst and even if it took 24 hours for my external battery to charge, I would just get a couple of more batteries and leave them always charging in an out-of-the-way corner of my house.

I change batteries at least once a day every day and have with a Nokia tablet for three years or so and have never had to reset the clock and had no problem with the alarm. So I don't know what you're talking about.

Just to update everyone. I received a brand new phone from nokia. They sent my old battery back with it. The phone feels a little different but I think that's because I haven't held it in about a week. I'll let everyone know if this model is able to be overclocked over 850 or not

When my usb socket was playing up, i sent it away to be repaired (minus the stylus) and within 14 days i received a replacement phone not sure if brand new or not but in a1 condition with my old battery and wait for it...another stylus (result).

All seems ok with the replacement now after the pr 1.3 update but when i put most of my apps back on it. i had the no response from the desktop icon issue when bringing it out of lock it took 10 secs to start responding to screen presses.

    But all is ok now.....sigh.

Calm down dear. Is anyone fighting with you? No need to have that tone.

By the way the clock resetting is a known bug with the N900. Do a search and you will find a thread about it. Do not assume that because your N900 does not have a problem that means no one's N900 has it. That is like someone whose usb port has never had a fault saying the N900 does not have a usb port problem.

what's the situation btw on broken usb connectors? Does this affect all n900's or is it just on older n900's? ( Just recently bought an N900, had it a couple of days!). And if nokia replaced/repaired the n900's usb what if it breaks a second time, or a third ... .x.x

It's probably a good idea to keep overclocking questions to a separate thread.

I managed to fix my usb port problem with a temporary solution. I opened up my phone and worked my way to where the usb port is located. I stuffed a piece of paper between the port and the circuit board surrounding the camera. i put my phone back together and i was able to charge and connect my phone to my pc. the usb port wasnt ripped from the motherboard though, i guess it was loose or something. hope this helps

Well, thought I give everyone a quick update on my broken USB warranty issue.

After being rejected by the Australia Morley Nokia care center for "Physical damage" even though Nokia worldwide admitted that it is a known fault.

I raised a few noise and post on the Nokia forum with how I was treated by their service center.

Not long after that, I was contacted by their customer service people, even someone from their call center rang me up, they asked me to send the phone in by mail, and replaced it with a new phone.

When I picked up the phone from the care center, the customer service girl was a little "sheepish" blaming on head office not communicating to them on these issue... yeah right...

So if you have a broken or loose USB connector... bring it to Nokia and get them to fix it... if they dont, then give their customer service hell, and dont give up... and dont try to fix it yourself as it would just give them more reason to reject your warranty.

    Good luck

My phone finally succumbed to this dreaded issue. Person I spoke to at Nokia seemed to be clueless about this whole issue but told me to send it back to them.

Question is I have NITdroid installed on it. Should I get rid of that? Any tips or advice as to what I should do before I send it?
