Hi
my n900 screen is not responding to touch as all. I need to send for repair, however I cannot press the PC suite pop-up on the phone when I cannot to Ovi Suite for full backup.

Can someone advise how I perform a full backup of my phone with a dead screen?

thanks

Have you tried using the Ovi Suite or, (if deadscreen) projecting it to a TV using the Nokia Video Connectivity Cable (CA-75U)?

Yep, just use video out to a tv, and you'll be fine.

I think the OP can see the screen ok, but not select items by touch.

You can open a Terminal with Ctrl-Backspace, you can use the command line to copy important files to an SD card. From the command line you can also initiate a network connection, you can install an ssh-server (or any other program) which will allow you remote access, it should be possible to enable mass-storage mode from the command line (but it didn't work when I tried it), I'd imagine it would also be possible to enable the PC suite mode, but I haven't worked that out yet. So the simplest thing to do is just use the "cp" command to just copy anything that is important to you to an SD card.

It's actually ctrl+shift+x, not ctrl+backspace.

http://www.nokian900applications.com...on-nokia-n900/ apparently explains how to get OpenSSH working on your N900, and you can use any SFTP-capable application then to copy your files from there.

Good luck!

Of course it is, I must have had a brain fart, and I didn't check before I posted.
