Phew - all installed and preenv back to its best Small matter of it taking something in the region of 3 hours to update Maemo to PR1.3.... I suspect this says my phone is a little fried (seems to be working fine now though so perhaps it was just a little constipated).

every time i try to update it says i need to use a pc updater, am i doing something wrong?

First thing to check is did you install any Webos games on your N900 (Preenv + that library are needed to get Need for speed undercover working). If you havent got these then you have a new issue, like an app or modification that is conflicting with PR1.3.

what is preenv? um also dont know what a webos game is, i downloaded games from ovi and this site only if that helps

feel like a bit of a numpty now.

i was looking at the wrong value for free Rootfs space, & did not have enough. I have run into a secondary problem though

I have been deleting applications to gain space back but it is having no impact!!

I have already moved 5 x 10mb themes, Gnumeric @ 19mb and Mypaint @ 10mb with no change in Free Rootfs??!!!!!!

I have also followed this wiki http://wiki.maemo.org/Free_up_rootfs...ely_used_files with no success.

Any ideas????
