I was unaware of this in pr 1.2 and never tried this before until today, im not sure if ive ever heard of this being mentioned, if you swipe from the left side of the screen in a sms conversation window you are able to select text like the web browser. Something new to pr 1.3?

I think I might have tried it in pr1.2 and I don't remember having this feature.. maybe its a new feature...

Nope not new, I'm sure I saw it and started using it quite a while back even before pr1.2.. But nice to point out for people that didn't know!

I just wish we could do this in email.

Having to click 'forward email', selecting and copying text and importing into a text program to remove the markers (>) is quite annoying.

My device is still on 1.2 and although the arrow icon appears when you swipe from the left, I cannot see a way of selecting the text...so I believe yes, it's new to 1.3.

Try holding the Shift key and selecting text with your finger/stylus.
