Thank you very much, I love it. The original video was starting to get on my nerves.

Am I the only one noticing slight lag around the middle? (I'm using the Flyby video on a non-overclocked N900 with PR1.2)

2 & 3. There's a very good tutorial here (but must register to see):

    http://www.symbian-freak.com/forum/v...p?f=50&t=41091

...or if you know some basic linux, it's simpler to just do this:

Use the browser to download the video to the phone.
    Become root.
Do a 'cp' command to put the video in:

    /usr/share/hildon-welcome/media

Then use vim or your favorite editor to do a quick edit to:

    /etc/hildon-welcome.d/default.conf

Add a line for your new downloaded boot video and just comment out the original 'hands' video. Boom - done! I put claesbas' Maemo flyby video from the beginng of this thread on mine.
I've been trying to follow these commands, I commented out the video, I moved it into the indicated folder, etc, but when I boot up, all I get are the loading "dots," and then it goes straight to the desktop (no video). Any suggestions... please?

I have no idea where this video is located in the file structure but I am sure someone here can tell. I think I have rendered a correct 800x480 (xvid and mp3) video in a avi container..

UPDATE: Added dark version with new sounds! :-) also an 9hour render with motion blur so the animation is really smooth. It was worth the wait, hehe.. not quite. I removed the penguin. This theme is to dark for a happy penguin.

    NEW UPDATE:
    (I can't stop tweaking this.. :-)
I now know the meaning of loong render times. Made a flyby camera movement and put it on render over night. I added the components logos in the bottom (if this is a trademark issue again I will delete them) at the end of the video. Lots of After Effects stuff here.. wish I knew Blender. I hear rumours that Apple Shake (old like 2.0 or 3.0) sources was released to some companies. There is a linux version of that. I wish someone stole those and made a open-soruce compositing package ;-).

Go to your Application Manager, and download an application called called "Bootscreen Manager"

Once installed on your N900 it hooks into your Settings screen

One can now add as many videos as you like to your Bootscreen or startup.

In the screenshot above, I only have one video selected, but if I wanted both to run then I would have selected the second one as well.
