hmm... to me, some sort of a vibrating device seems to be an obvious adition...
a magnetic sensor is also possible... should be on the top left...
but it could also be a motion sensor or a digital compass...
or even a IR receiver/transmitter...
wimax seems improbable... as is a digital dvb-t receiver...

so, to anyone who knows the answer, is it any of the above?

Accelerometer?

Seriously, someone who knows please spill the beans. I need to know so I stop wondering and get back to work (and earn the money to buy one).

after some thinking, it has to be some sort of alternate way to connect to the internet...
other than wifi... 3g, cdma, wimax.. whatever...
remember... this is supposed to be a consumer friendly device...
so, it should behave like a top of the line phone... and the keyword here is PHONE !
and maybe, just maybe, this is already on the current n800....

if it's not... then hey... maybe it's a $200 refund to use on nokia store..

At this point I'm sure it's a time vortex manipulator. Not as good as a TARDIS, but it can get you to when you're going. Plus, it's useful as a teleporter, too. May need more juice than a standard Nokia BP-5L to hop more than a few decades, though.

It looks like compass is included through gps:

Don't think so. You see 6.4 mph. So it is normal that it calculates the direction

I am basing this suggestion on absolutely nothing, but is the N8x0 hardware capable of supporting multi-touch on the touchscreen, or is this something that has to be "built into" the digitizer itself?

Since it can distinguish between stylus and finger, I *assume* multitouch is possible.

I think there is a difference between detecting a small/large area or detecting completely different positions on the screen... So my guess would be no...
