"Oh dear" - I ran the removal script and installed the latest tarball.
Looks like all the localisation settings have disappeared :/ for example - the maemo homescreen title is now "home_ap_home_view". Shutdown options are "powerup_memainmenu_locktouchscreen", "powerup_memainmenu_flightmode", etc . . .
Any chance I could easily copy these across from my firmware install?
Recommend I just blast the whole thing and copy over the OS from the ROM direct?

I recommend that you do not reboot... my N800 is now stuck in a reboot cycle. Probably, disabling the lifeguard reset might do the trick. HopefullyIf not, it's a full reflash.
