Hey penguinbait,

I have KDE356-2-FINAL3.tar.bz2 and will use that script to remove it. Thanks!

"Oh dear" - I ran the removal script and installed the latest tarball.

Looks like all the localisation settings have disappeared :/ for example - the maemo homescreen title is now "home_ap_home_view". Shutdown options are "powerup_memainmenu_locktouchscreen", "powerup_memainmenu_flightmode", etc . . .

Any chance I could easily copy these across from my firmware install?

Recommend I just blast the whole thing and copy over the OS from the ROM direct?

I am sorry this was the culprit, it was intermixed in the cups

rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/de/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/es/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/fr/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/it/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/ja/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/pl/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/sv/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/zh_TW/
rm -rf ./usr/share/locale/et/

I am sorry, no more writing scripts when I am tired

Here is a link to the locale you would be missing (on n800), untar from / (root)

http://penguinbait.com/locale.tar.gz

The removal script has been fixed and the link restored, one last time, sorry

I recommend that you do not reboot... my N800 is now stuck in a reboot cycle. Probably, disabling the lifeguard reset might do the trick. Hopefully If not, it's a full reflash.

No problems, my tablet is not mission critical anyway (I wouldn't have volunteered as a beta tester if it were, now would I? ) Thanks for all your work.

Just glad I didn't reboot

Will try the locales now - no need for apologies PB again - non-mission-critical tablet here so all's good.
