you need to be root and have downloaded the deb then use the "dpkg -i xxxxx.deb" command to install

typing "top" in a terminal, what process is shown taking cpu time? If hildon-desktop then it did not install the patched version. If some other prog you installed then uninstall it.

I dont know if this works for you but VERY strange sometimes when my idle process rises..i install flashlight-extra and then uninstall straight away!! ive done this about 10 times now and works EVERY time and i idle at 0-3%

i thank you very much ........ i tried " top " an watching it for a while ....... but cant figure out wut is taking so much usage ....

Does not matter what route you go. Follow advice on http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware

Note that you can flash bootloader, kernel, and rootfs only or those AND the eMMc (your photo, music files etc). See page linked above.

Don'r reinstall all your progs and widgets at once as it becomes difficult to spot what may be misbehaving. Do it in batches and test.

Regarding "top", when the prog is running, press the letter "p" to filter the high cpu process to the top of the table.

i already reinstalled the firmware using the nokia software updater .....

now the usage of processor is (2%-3%) at idle it (2.4 % most of time )....... i like those numbers....... and using "p" is good thing ........ thanx for that too ....
