I was tempted to ask Stallman what his thoughts on genome licensing were, after one of his talks, but I decided that might not go well. :P
Oh wait, torrents, you said? Would that be Free as in Speech, or Free as in Rum? >

Dont' you all think that's a whole lot information, know-how, functionality and all to be all by evolution?

Yes I don't belive in evolution. Because when you think about how much work smart minds have put into the N900 and it still has flaws how big is the chance something a trillion time complexer can evolve from nothing.

You do the math :-)

Yes you would say over a very long time it would be possible!

Once again not without inteligence behind it - I would reply because every thing left to itself will get worse.

And last but not least.

Amazing that one sperm and one egg contains the whole information to create a human beeing. From one cell.

Amazing.

Ok - I belive in God and the Bible to be true. I am maybe the only one on this thread. Most of you will say that it can not be true that there is an eternity. But you will most probably say well the world is 350 Billion years old. Well thats close to eternaty :-)

This means that the female egg cell withstands this DDoS attack at 1,6 terabyte per second, and only lets through one(!) data package, thereby being the best freaking hardware firewall in the world!

The downside of it is that this only small data package that it lets through, hangs the system for the whole of 9 months!
I take it that's 'unzipped' ?

You want a pirated girlfriend?

Gives a whole different meaning to open source movement... I would avoid at all costs all related alpha- and beta-stage projects from sourceforge.

*GG*

While funny, it's not quite true - the entire path TO the egg cell already kills off the vast majority of the sperm. Only a few thousand make it as far as the fallopian tubes, and of those, at most a couple of hundred reach the egg cell.

In the spirit of not starting a flame war, I'll ignore all of this other than the "350 Billion years" bit. Currently, most scientists agree that the universe is around 13.75 billion years old.

I think, I saw this somewhere before, but still interesting. Not so long ago, I saw an article about a human eye.Eyes are like a 100 megapixel video cameras that stream uncompressed, raw visual information into the brain. If only we had a better "lens" and an ability to zoom-in. And brain is like a huge hard drive. Scientists were able to calculate the approximate capacity by counting neurons in the brain.

You sort of already can. Ok, it's only one particular "someone" at the moment and not bittorrent but it's a start.

I heafd it was a -lot- less(like 3mpix total), though the density varies throughout - right at the center, there's a -lot- more cells than at the edge, so more detail can be seen.
Of course, due to the human eye's movement/focus characteristics, the "effective" pixels will be far more.
