Does you cable and socket have a '3rd' (often exposed pin)? That's probably the earth.

You'd be better off googling your problem, and find specific information for Greek cabling requirements.

solved-but have no idea why that happend- i plugged the computer to the wall and the shock was gone- then i plugged it back to the extention cable and the shock came back. I think the extention cable is faulty and this gave me a really hard time to discover. Thanks for the quick replies

extension cord and stuff you omitted in your first post
Extension lead is not earthed. Significant parts of Asia omit the ground rail so you only have active / neutral at the wall socket even though there may well be 3 points. Ground is just never used.

Having said this, that zapping you get - I get that every day, sometimes several times a day : )

You don't really get used to it, you just shake your head in wonder at how far electricians are willing to cut corners just to save a few bucks.

I'm having trouble understand how someone can install an entire O/S 'in error'!

Anyway, you just need to re-install windows and when it asks, opt to use the entire disk.

And how is the relevant to electric shocks or Maemo?!
