Yep, used to love playing that when I had my decent amiga setup, was the shizz untill gta3 came out...

contributing music is nothing. anyone can knock up a few 10 minuite tunes.

Guys, I dont think this thread will go anywhere or attract any serious developers. There simply isn't enough value/content/depth!

I agree. First of all, just creating a thread saying "i want to create a clone of this game!" isn't going to really attract much people. Secondly, it's the coding part that is the hardest one so it's starting all with the wrong foot with a musician but no coders.

My advice: if you really are serious about crafting a game then you really need to plan out IN DETAIL everything. And then secondly, you need to realize that creating an actually good-looking playable game is most likely going to take atleast a YEAR. It's not just "let's throw all this stuff together and call it a game!"

I simply do not believe the OP has really thought it out.

No one is listening to the OP?
Look the engine he is getting ported to maemo, if he really suceeds
in that, won't this be good for us??
I know that it's a bit much all he is asking, but come on, if we could
help him get that ported to maemo, and stop running in circles saying
this thread won't get anywhere, then it really won't...

I don't think you really realize how much work there is anyways to do. An engine is just an engine, you still have A LOT of coding left to do. And as I said, the OP has not laid out any kinds of plans about the game itself, only a really vague claim that it's a "GTA clone."

You left out AI and if the game is supposed to be multiplayer then there also has to be a network protocol defined, all the events must be synchronized and so on, ie. networking support is a lot of work.
