coz n900 has a massive 32gb in fat32 format
is it possible to make, lets say, 15gb fat32 and the rest ntfs??

thanks, i just saw one and it looked a bit confusing, so i think il leave it alone. i thought i would be a simple task of going into computer management

If your OK with a hex editor it's not that hard.

I wouldn't bother to be honest. Unless your going to convert MyDocs from vfat to ext3 it's really not worth the hassle.

i only wanted it so i could easily transfer movies and files around, no problem though, and thanks again

You can.

What are you trying to do? Copy a film from your PC to the N900?

yes, but the film is larger than 4gb

What is the resolution? If it is more than 800x480 there is not much point playing it on the n900.

You could use tablet-encode to transcode it to 800x480 and it will probably reduce the file size quite a bit.

i would use my n900 as a memory card to maybe transfer it to a laptop or to another pc, wont be playing on the phone itself

A good idea would be to simply grab a SD card and format -that- to ntfs. Then, you don't have to worry about messing with the internals and potentially needing to reflash.

An even simpler idea is to use a zip tool like WinRAR to compress the video(at the fastest/least compressed mode), and then use the split-into-volumes option to break it into 4gb parts. At your destination, just extract it directly onto the target machine.
