Im getting an error "cannot find the required files" when trying to boot Maemo with power kernel (multiboot).
Stanard maemo kernel and nitroid are working fine.
Here's my .item file :
ITEM_NAME="Maemo kernel power46"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.10power46
ITEM_MODULES=ext3
Not sure if I did something wrong.
Thx for help in advance.

Try running as root:
apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power-bootimg multiboot-kernel-power
That should copy the power 46 kernel to /boot/multiboot (check if it is there) and update the .item file
Ok, that helped ty very much.
Just one further question, how do I set the power kernel as standard ?
Already tried to change the name of the .item to "00-xxxx", but it's still booting up the non-power-kernel.

Multiboot should boot into the previously loaded kernel as default. If you boot power-kernel, then reboot, it should boot the power kernel again. If you boot nitdroid, reboot, it should boot nitdroid again.
there are some apps which emulate multitasking in the android market but there is nothing that is anywhere near maemo multitasking. It's the most frustrating part of android.iphone is the same.just can't do it. it's the software.
oh my mistake. i thought that Android supports full multitasking. Maemo's multitasking is amazing, best i've seen. i didn't expect Android to multitask as easily as Maemo's though. just thought that it would have some sort of multitasking support. sad to know that it doesn't. reminds me of the iOS now..
isn't the idea of smartphones multitasking? if isn't, then what makes a phone a smartphone?

Basically a PDA ( Personal digital assistant ) with phone feature = smartphone.
Its an old concept that hasn't become popular until recently. Windows Mobile/CE and Palm have been in the business for years (Before the year 2000, the Dreamcast ran Windows CE). And yes they could multitask, no pretty guis though.
Its only until Apples state of the art marketing department got a hold of it that it became known.
This is absolutely awesome.
I just used the auto-installer to install Nitdroid 0.0.8, the download took about 1hr.
Rebooted straight into it, no issues.
Performance is not too bad considering I'm using an old 2GB SD card I found in the draw, not class 6.
If anything it gives the N900 the Portrait mode missing from Maemo.
I showed a couple of iPhone users at work and they were very impressed at the dual boot capability of the device.
Of course there was a bit of a chuckle when I said I cant make calls yet.
How do I thank the Nitdroid team directly?
Are they on maemo.org?
