Does it still work? I installed Canola2 and get no marbles (selection buttons) on the screen.

I Don't know.... They seem to have stopped development and the last couple of times I have tried it, it failed in one way or another.

Mediabox , however is still being actively updated.

As for where to install from....I just reinstalled it from the Diablo Extras repository not that long ago....
