Hi, I recently received a new N900. I saw a notification in the top-left corner regarding a new update, so I selected the update. The update downloaded, and the system eventually automatically rebooted without any error messages.

BUT: when I select "Update" from Application Manager, "Maemo 5" still shows up as a possible update. "Details" > "Summary" shows installed version as 10.2010.19-1 and available version as 10.2010.36-2. When I try updating again, the phone appears to apply the update (it doesn't appear to be re-downloading the update though), and then reboots without any error messages... but the same update still shows up in Application Manager. I've repeated this process several times.

ALSO: I haven't been able to uninstall or install software from Application Manager.

So, I suspect something is wrong... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to provide additional information. Apologies in advance if this issue is addressed elsewhere; I did a Google search of the forum and couldn't find anything.

I have the following catalogs listed: Nokia Applications, Nokia System Software Updates, Ovi, and maemo.org. I haven't changed anything there.

Well that appears to have fixed it for me. Thanks a bunch. Curious what caused this problem in the first place, but the important thing is that things appear to work now. Thanks again.

There are a couple of libs from extra repositories which prevent the OTA-Upgrade. These have to be purged before the maemo5-package-upgrade, but this procedure changes from device to device depending on the installed applications. So apt holds the upgrade back before it removes something automatically
