Hi Guys,

I am trying tuning different radio stations but one thing that I have noticed is there is no auto-tuning functionality in the N900 and tuning manually is a helluva lot cumbersome and tedious task it just does not stop on a desired frequency number either it goes way too forward or way too backwards...is there any way where I can Auto-Tune all the radio stations to their exact frequencies ?

Please Help !

Thanks

I agree.

FM radio support on N900 is, at least, rudimentary.

I really don't know what you mean. I think the FM Radio application is awesome.

It's really difficult to set the fm radio to a frequency. I slide it to the frequency I want, and hold my finger still so that the dial stops moving. Yet when I remove my finger it decides to spin left or right, off-frequency.

A simple text entry box where you could type in the frequency you want would be much easier to use and I wouldn't have to spend 5 minutes trying to make the wheel-of-fortune frequency dial stop where I want it.

I also think the FM program is super. I also find it very difficult to add a new station because of my inability to get the pointer to stop exactly where I want it.

I haven't looked at the structure of this program but if it is storing frequency and name there is, no doubt, a table/list/array/file where this information is stored. Being able to directly edit the stored station information, with the ability to add a new station would be exactly what is needed to address the needs of those of us who are fumble fingered.

IMO this interface is something that should be copied to maemo:

Thatīs pretty much foundation of basic fm app. On top of that it would be nice to add more features. But most important things when designing UI are of course: "How many finger taps" and "How fast you can get it run".

In the Maemo Radio application, hold the arrow buttons to scan. The bottom bar can be brought up to see a list of saved stations. Perhaps you were unaware...?

The only thing I wish for is that the Recaller program/widget was integrated into the Radio application to make it easier to record.
