OMG, it's happening again! Weird stuff happens if more than one app is involved.
Reinstalling that hildon stuff did help but just until I changed desktop layout using desktop activities. This broke background settings again.
Now I'm completely confused. Do I really have to reinstall hildon apps after using desktop activities? Is that the way I'm gonna spend my time in future?
Nevertheless, thanks for that hint. And of course for readding your great theme management!

Sorry, but can't answer since I don't know how desktop activity manager works and how matan's hildon-home differs from stock one. All I know for sure, is that Theme Customizer replaces (and backups) any hildon-home with it's that's present when installing (or upgrading) it.
I can take a look if the matan's hildon-home is on repos, then I could drop off the one that's included with Theme Customizer and move using matan's one.
Only thing that Theme Customizer needs modified hildon-home is for making widgets re-sizeable.
Okay, version 0.9-64 is soon available @ extras-devel for those who are brave to take the path less travelled (yes, another sleepless night, that's why the poetry).
Changelog is:
* IMPROVED: updated french translation
* NEW: included new theme chooser tool instead of using built-in one
* BUGFIX: icon theme is now stored also into index.theme when saving new theme
* IMPROVED: added several error checkings for incomplete themes and missing required files
why does it say unable to install,.bcoz some package are missing, both when using the deb file and app man
It would be easier to guide if you told what those packages are (check the app manager's log for details). At the moment requirements for installing are:
- extras-testing or devel enabled
- PR1.3 (Qt 4.7) installed onto device
Hate to be saying this but here we go:
I've used Theme Customizer for a long time, but today it decided to transform my N900 into a boot loop machine :s. It failed while it was restarting processes, screen started blinking then it just shut down. Went on a infinite reboot. Removed the battery, putted again and still looping. Thanks god i have NITDroid or else i wouldn't be able to charge my battery!
Do you have any clues what could be? I was putting hicolor icons (i had humanity before), was using Marina Theme.
I'll reflash my phone if it's the only solution, but right now i'm trying to find a solution without doing that.
By the way, it's after boot screen, you can see the menu icon, wallpaper, but no widgets or menu. When it tries to load what is missing it just starts blinking and reboots itself.
EDIT: Was using the latest version from extras-devel.
2nd EDIT: Solved the problem, It was my fault, not Theme Customizer's problem.
d-iivil this app rocks, i've been using it since it first got in the devels, and its awesome, thanks man .
just some ideas :
- option to edit the notifications colours, its yellow by default, but it would be nice to have green, blue, or even orange .'
-option to change the messaging layout, there is tons of messages and im themes at the mods thread, and the option to be able to choose the conversation theme from ths awesome app would be great .
these are just options, i know that these aare easy for people like us with hacking into the files.... but just ideas nothing more .
