Ok, managed to fix this by clearing /home/user/.backgrounds/ . Files in the directory were automatically restored.
After that I managed to change the stuck wallpaper.
Just in case someone else encounters this.
Excuse the newbie question but where do i find /home/user/.backgrounds/.
I have a wallper stuck on the second screen. Whist I can flash the OS no problem (doesnt solve the issue) for the life of me i cannot get the eMMC flash to work.
I did it using CuteExplorer, a file manager that you can download from a repository (I cannot remember which, sorry). With this feature, you can access all the folders of the system, hidden and not hidden, and there you'll be able to find '.background' folder. If you keep on pressing a file or foder, a contextual menu will appear and then you can choose 'delete'. In fact I didn't erased the complete folder but only the four 'background.png' files I found inside. Hope it helps.
