you can change it just keep press on the panel go to properties and change it also you can change the wallpaper you can customize in the way you want look at the video on the first page I have the desktop customized

the srcipts create a self /home folder for ubuntu that means you can not access your files in MyDocs, but you will have a different .config file so the changes that you made in ubuntu would not affect debian

yes you can do it using the terminal e.g.

    sudo cp /home/user/Mydocs/Music /.ubuntu/home/user

but you will have less than 2 gb if you use the script

I use a custom emmc with 4GB for applications and 25GB for MyDocs folder!

Doesn't matter because the ubuntu-m5-v1.img.ext2 only has 2gb

so if you want a lot of space i don't recommend using the script, instead you could customize your desktop in a fine way and share this with debian (only files and costumization like walpaper on dektop are shared between debian and ubuntu, application don't so if you install a program in ubuntu that only will be available in ubuntu)

you could create files under /root but you can't create in the Desktop, you can easily play mp3 just go to menu, Sound & Video and choose Music player then add your music
