I haven't seen or heard anything from nuevasync... (rapid check: no, it is not april 1st).
Bad news if it is true, but it is *their* decision. I wish Nokia got its act together and offered syncing for Google, but that is too much to expect for a 500 Euro gadget...
To me 30 a year in not bad. I went a head and upgraded. So far the only problem I have had is with the always on syncing failing one out of three time so i am doing syncs ever 15 min with no problem. I am using all there sync features and my phone is much more usable now. Also paying comes tech support so any issues that come up there is a support system to get them fixed So, sounds like a win win to me.
Syncs multiple calenders, automatically sync daily, and can be run from the command line.
Followed your advice and tried out erminig.
I for one cannot recommend that path (yet). First it duplicated all my entries on the google calendar. After correcting that it seemed to work on a download-only basis, but after some syncs my local calendar was missing some entries that were there before and still are on my google calendar.
EDIT: Will try to find out whether those problems are because I didn't start from scratch (i.e. only the google calendar populated with data when first synching.)

Meh... It's not so much the price, I don't like paying for anything that used to be free!
Use the built-in Mail for Exchange for Google calendar (not contacts) (look here)
Use syncevolution-frontend for Google contacts:
Delete local contacts (DONT delete them by highlighting all, this will deleate all Skype contacts etc. globally) by going to contact settings->Delete all contacts from device
Install syncevolution-frontend and press Add new service
Give it a name in lower case (very important)
Press Synchronize! and hope for the best
Workes for me. If not, run syncevolution-frontend in the terminal and try to figure out the problem from the output. Good luck!
I had used NuevaSync for maybe two months until somehow it fell out of sync with my Google Calendar. It's broken between NS and GC. So total re-syncing NS<>N900 won't fix it. And NS does not offer a way to re-sync itself with GC. I figured that only way to fix this is wipe my GC and reimport all events. And I don't like that - who knows when it will happen again. That's the main reason I never like usiing third-party-server sync since effectively there are two syncs in between.
Here is what I'm using:
Erminig-NG for multiple Google Calendar (cons: doesn't support alarm, some tricky or exception recurrent event may not work)
SyncEvolution-frontend for Google Contacts via SyncML. (cons: doesn't sync birthday - but I sync Google's Contact's Birthday calendar via Erminig, so I can still see the birthdays in my N900 calendar)
Missing the alarm is my biggest complaint now, but other than that I am happy so far.
