Is there a way to prevent a folder from being scanned and included in the Photos app? Its very annoying to have every single image from every single folder shown in Photos. In many ways, the Image viewer on the N810 was superior (Im on N900 now).

Either edit /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg or use the tracker-cfg app.

More details if you search these forums...

There is trackercfg from one of the extras repositories, dont know which.
Or edit /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg manually with any editor.

Edit: Those who have the source with them are faster! I should have known!

You can prevent scanning specified folder with Tracker Cfg, just put that folder in NoWatchDirectory.

Thanks. I read somewhere that tracker-processes -r will remove tracker's database - will tracker rebuild the database aurtomatically afterwards? or do I need to do something else?

After you insert specified directory in NoWatchDirectory save and close app. Then open X-terminal and type:
1. root
2. cd /home/user/.cache/tracker
3. rm -f *.db
4. reboot

Yes.

No need to delete files/reboot etc like kolos says.

Honestly, this has been discussed many, many, many times here already...
