Here's a video of the new Dolphin Mini browser:

This is not to be compared to Opera Mini. It is optimized for fast page loads, and smooth operation! Worth checking out.

Here's a video (Thai?) of the Tab showing off the local Readers Hub.

This is the interface the Tab should have had for all devices. It's really slick.

Here come the tablet-ready apps! Apparently a remote-desktop application called WYSE pocketcloud that is undergoing a more-tablet friendly UI upgrade!

Expect *many* more apps to follow.

I would, but it won't accept my IMEI number. There's quite a discussion going on at xda-developers whether the offer applies retrospectively or not.

PC or Mac? Nope--I'll pass. I have neither in my household and I'd rather use something more open-source anyway.

For now, I just use ConnectBot to open an SSH tunnel for android-vnc-viewer to remote control my systems at home. If I'm really pressed to use a graphical application, even.

Have you tried out Dolphin Mini yet? I'm eager to learn about the new UI!
Funny--just a little while ago here at work, I had a guy run up with his Archos 5 Internet Tablet (Android) and wanted to compare them. heheh

Nope--I'm not really interested in checking out Dolphin Mini. I already have three web browsers installed, and that's about all I'm able to tolerate. Plain old Dolphin works great as it is.

Here's something that's interesting: Amazon Web Services have released an SDK for Android
http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/what...g-mobile-sdks/

This should make it far easier for Android apps to leverage Amazon's cloud services.

Okay I may be closer to a Tab now. All depends on my N900. I am now backing up my files then will reflash the firmware and hard drive. Then will give it one last chance. If the frustrating issue I have had since last night (or any other equally frustrating issue arises) then I am going to sell my N900 and put the money towards a Tab. As much as I love all the customisations you can do on the device I think I have gotten to the point where it just is not worth the hassle and I would rather have a device that works properly.

Of course it is a customisation that has probably caused the problem but what is the point of an N900 if you are afraid to customise? Apart from the excellent conversations app and chat clients that seems all it is good for.

Was really hoping to wait to see what HTC brings to the table but my N900 doesn't seem to want me to do so. So may be a case of get the Tab and cover my eyes and ears when HTC announce their tablet.

Before I make a fatal error though (don't have much hope that the N900 is not going to give me headache even after flashing) can any Tab owners or android experts tell me:

1. Does the Tab come with wired headset? Since this is going to be my phone this is essential (don't want to cough up money on a bluetooth headset at this time).

2. Is it possible to be signed into skype and google talk at the same time?

3. Does the Tab do skype video calling?

4. Is there a transfer contacts option from non-android devices? Would not have been a major issue normally since I could sync from gmail contacts but incredibly enough my N900 cannot sync with gmail.

5. Is it possible to use your own pictures as wallpaper on the home screens or do you have to choose from a the ones preloaded or downloaded from the android market? Presumably the answer is a resounding yes but just want to make sure.

6. If I brick the device is it easy to reflash like you can on N900 (or is that unnecessary because it cannot be bricked)?

1) I think it depends on the marketing zone. In Italy there was one.
2) I can tell you that skype and a voip client can be both online, definitely.
3) No, the android client for skype is not video-enabled at present.
4) don't know
5) Yes, for sure.
6) I'd like to know, too!
