Hi,
I configured most of the repo's available for N900 and downloaded lot of stuff. Finally ended up with "Memory for installable application" was very less. when i tried to open contacts or try send message i used get error msg like "Internal Error. Operation failed".

So,
I reflashed my device, both FIASCO (firmware v2) and eMMC (lastest v2010).
First i flashed FIASCO image without -R parameter
next i flashed eMMC image (vanilla) with -R parameter
Now i see that "Memory for installable applications" is cleared, it shows 1.9GB available.

But the problem is, in the device desktop, before battery icon, there is a small icon which looks like file icon or sim card icon on which there is a red line crossed over that, i havent seen this earlier. I am not able to make any calls or msgs or recieve calls.

Pls help me what to do next? i couldnt get back my fone as i got it from showroom even after flashing both.

Make sure you selected the right image to flash with. Flashing with an old image will disable the phone functionality.

edit: look on the far right for latest maemo image or something like that. eg Global: RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

I had latest firmware version, i.e., firmware v3 but i am not sure was that a USA variant or UK or global.
Now to flash, i downloaded firmware v2 "RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin" USA variant.

As per you can this be a reason why phone is not working? also which variant matters? i am from india

It should be RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin

Edit: For which varient is better, i think they're all pretty much similar. I personally use Global but USA is fine too (mine was originally USA).

Oh.....i think i have selected a wrong firmware then. Ok i will download wat u suggested and re-flash. I will post the status here. it might take time. Please have an eye on this thread, i need ur help.
