The source code of Android 2.3 has been released now and e-eyes is already porting it to a new NITDroid version according to the German NITDroid blog http://nitdroid.de/ . As the source code shouldn't be that different between Android 2.2 and Android 2.3. do you think we can expect some "Gingerbread" for Christmas?

i believe the nitdroid guys should work on 2.2 and make it fully functional instead of running behind ginger, as i have heard 2.3 needs a cpu of around 1GHZ and overclocking generates heat in our hybird N900...
Will be awsome if 2.2 functions fully in beast...

You are wrong, LG Optimus One P500 with 600 Mhz CPU is going to get Gingerbread.

froyo is an OS of ideos (hawaii) ~550-600Mhz cell phone.. but in reviews people wrote that the OS is slow..
What do you expect 2.3 to do on 600 Mhz processor..

Search a bit more about the optimus... its LG optimus not optimus prime...
