haven't had a chance to drive with 2.0 yet, but wow...I really like the new interface. This is the kind of thing that google maps does with it's windows mobile and java clients.

I guess this website use its own set of maps with a google maps interface :

    http://diddlefinger.com/

    (translation of japanese maps)

Is there a way to get these maps in maemomapper?

Thanks Gnuite for this great app! Just installed this new version. Overall it feels pretty good for first release.

I did find some issues, one of which is serious: I did download maps on some areas using the "tap tap tap" method, and MaemoMapper did crash on me few times. That didn't cause issues until the last time now it seem like the database is corrupted. In some certain zoom levels I can no longer download new maps without MaemoMapper crashing/closing without warning. I did try to rename the database file to "old" and started a new database, after which the problem did go away.

Right now when there wasn't much map data this is not a big deal, but if I did have "the whole world" in there I'd be upset... I think there is a need to add some sort of database integrity check feature, to correct database problems (when) they happen?

Second issue, which I have an open Bugzilla bug #1752, is that when I have RTComm installed on N800 MaemoMapper never detects missing bluetooth GPS receiver... it just keeps saying "Searching for GPS receiver" indefinitely. Without RTComm it (version 1.4 at least) gives up after about 10 seconds and lets user to either retry or cancel. Not sure if this is a RTComm or MaemoMapper problem.

Quick question for everyone... I've been looking into expanding the zoom levels so you can zoom in closer. I can do it pretty easily, but I have to change the way zoom levels are named. I have to add 4 to all of the zoom levels, so that you can zoom from level 0 to level 20. This will invalidate all your current repositories (since the zoom levels won't match up anymore). You'll have to re-download your maps again, in other words. Is anyone opposed to this?

I should have done this before I released v2.0 (since everyone had to re-download their repositories anyway), but maybe it's soon enough thereafter to impose this small request on you early-adopters?

Hey Gnuite, I installed MM 2.0 via Application Manager's Update function and I am having a problem. I can't seem to get MM 2.0 to operate in "north up" mode. I have disabled auto map rotation via the menu and also done view reset, but it is still displaying the maps in their last rotated angle. I also tried reseting the view via the d-pad, but MM 2.0 appears to have imported my settings from MM 1.x and is panning when I use the d-pad instead. I anticipate that my problem can be cured by doing a complete uninstall of MM and cleaning out all the detritus left behind. Where does MM store all its settings files and whatnot so I can completely remove it before attempting to reinstall MM 2.0?

I don't think having to re-download the maps again is a big deal...

I managed to reproduce the "offline mode" bug. I was out and put the tablet offline and when I returned to the car I started MM while it was still offline the app started gave me a blank screen (actually no screen) and a message appeared to be flashing where the alerts usually are but there was no text.

    Autodownload was off.

I would love to see more zoom levels and have no problem downloading maps again.
