is the 30dB background noise coming from internal electronic noise?
I never see below 30dB values although the room would be quiet.
The linear scale is usually 0, while, say, typing on keyboard can give 8 (on linear).
The db scale usually gives 30. It could be related to atmosphere pressure or something, but I don't understand how.

The loudest noise is getting the stylus into N900 quickly: 106 on dB scale, 200 on linear.
