Well isn't that weird.. I cant see it either.
Luckily I hadn't closed the window since I made the report, so I could make a new report quickly:

    https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7781

( The way I think it should work, is like Tag Clouds usually works, ie. show the most commonly used tags in the largest font, and the least common ones smaller. Unused tags would naturally not be shown at all. That would remove all these stupid "pre-installed" tags, thats crowding my Tag Cloud right now, and ruining the functionality (for me at least).

Please go and vote for it, if you agree and/or have the same experince, so the Tag Cloud can be implemented the right way. Or chime in here or there, if you disagree. )

It seems the bug i reported yesterday, really is completely gone. Strange. I guess maemo.org is still having some problems. But at least there's one working report for it now.

Ok, so the new bug report i created has also disappeared, which means that someone is deleting them. I haven't, however, received any email about it, or any reason at all as to why my bug report was deleted.Who is doing this, I'd like to know.

And how does Nokia think this affects my (and others) willingness to use our spare time to help them rectify all the bugs in the N900, a device I've already spent $700 purchasing?!

I think it's a pretty rude, and certainly very disencouraging way to treat your customers/users.

This might have something to do with it.

I suspect you created your bugs right as things started moving.

Well this is really annoying for me too, so I created a bug for it, since I didn't see it anywhere already. Hopefully it'll stick this time

Guys Im sorry for digging this thing up its been like what 6 months since the last time this was discussed and even the bug report https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7986 was marked as resolved even if it is not....

But I think my solution can be able to help, for those who maybe still interested for a solution with this... As I also encountered this problem just recently as you see I just have had my N900 for like a week or two now....

I think this one solved the same problem I had with unused tags being unable to be deleted

just by going to X Terminal and then typing for this:

--remember to have the '[]' in the end before pressing enter, as the "apostrophe" in either side of [] is quite unreadable.--

had done that and the photo tags that I have had which is NOT associated in any of my photos (e.g. either the photo was already deleted) and those typographical tags that I would not like showing up (hence is not used in any of the current photos in my N900) have been deleted in a snap!

this may not be the solution that some might be looking for which is to be able to delete tags that they do not want even if it is still being used on a photo, but atleast its quite a workaround on deleting tags that you did not want in the first place (the reason why it is not used)....

It worked for me, let me know if it also worked for you

Thank you jupacabra, your trick with gconf worked for me. I can now start tagging my pictures with a clean tags cloud.

    I used
    Code:
    gconftool-2 -g /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags
    to list all tags

    Code:
    gconftool --set --type list --list-type=string /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags '[Christmas,Fun,Family,Cayenne,FRENCH GUIANA,Home]'
to write them back minus the ones that anoyed me for months

Btw. All tags stayed associated with my photo's!
