Okay, try to open the archive on your pc, does it opens? And do this:
root
apt-get install bzip
cd /home/user/MyDocs
bzip2 -d NITDroid-0.0.9.tar.bz2
This way it will take some time showing you a blank line in Xterm (3 mins approx)

im not sure what u mean by open on your pc (i connected phone to do comp and open by mass storage and ther is a file .apt-archive-cache which i can open but doesnt contain much

I started all over again and it says "E: Package nitdroid-nstaller has no installation candidate" ....you people who are helping noobies like us ...will get a special place in heaven!

i try to install bzip2 but it was all ready there as a new version
i continued and everyhing was a before no long line of 3 min
I did it all while connected to pc
