I m pretty sure its not related to this, but shortly after installing the modded driver, my phone went crazy. The touchscreen quite working, including illumination and the wifi is gone, too. At least it went back on this morning with touchscreen working, the rest is still f***** up.
Remove the battery and the SIM card, then reinsert them, if the LEDs work again, we can blame kernel-power's patches to lp55<some2digitnumber>

Could you please give a clearer description of what your package does, and what you (the community) could use it for? Therefore, meaning the value for end users/ slightly novice users like me. Packet injection is what you mentioned, what my guessing is, it is useful for getting a wifi password or something?
I am interested in this, if this can finally make my school's WPA+EAP (PEAP) connection stable, and able to autoconnect just like my other wifi access points.
You will most likely see no improvement. I am successfully using WPA EAP (PEAP) with the eduroam network at my university, but I am not using autoconnect. If I remember correctly it also worked with the stock wl12xx driver without any problems.
This driver will most likely only be useful if you want to use software like aircrack-ng or similar. Surely you can give it a try, it is possible that it works better since it uses a newer wifi stack than the stock wl12xx. Nevertheless I can't promise anything, since it is not as much tested as the stock wl12xx, it would be more likely that you run into some bugs.
Do you have any plans of making it free/gratis after you receive a certain amount of donations? You don't have to tell us what your minimum amount is; just wondering what your plans are
I don't know yet. It is possible that I may release the binaries after some time for free. This mostly depends on how the whole thing will continue. How fast we get a compat-wireless Maemo package, ...
The patches will be freely available soon. I already talked to some Meego ARM developers and sent them the patches for review and testing. Moreover I sent them to Kalle Valo (the wl1251 maintainer) for a first review and recommendations for posting on linux-wireless. I am waiting for his response now.
No, sorry for my english, there is a "feature" (nokia says), that makes your n900 not connect automatically to wpa-eap, for example eduroam networks. I've seen that there is a modified source code of wlancond, wich fixes that. What I'm telling is: if lxp is alredy going to mantain his source and binaries with the latest kernel-power, and he is alredy distributing a modified wlancond, there would be great that he also add this feature.

I will most likely distribute a replacement wlancond executable alone instead of a package in the future. Moreover I have to post my patch on the Maemo bugtracker, so it will hopefully be included in the next firmware version.
Regarding your problem: If it helps you and isn't too much effort I will compile a wlancond with your mentioned patch applied and distribute it freely.

You can use the same solution for this as the modded hildon-desktop packages use, just use the exact same version number as the official package, but you'll have to instruct uses to pin the package so it isn't automatically "upgraded" back to the official version.
