I know that N900 has a built in sip client however, I'm on holiday right now. and in here only fring/softphone seeems to be working with sip. built in sip client is blocked. Im using sipgate.co.uk.

My friends are currently using fring/softphone and those are working.
I found fring in extras-devel but it's not working. Msn works but only chat. Sip isnt working. no sound and doesnt recieve any calls

Is there any software which is available for N900?

There is asterisk available, you could try that. Or use openvpn to get past the firewall.

Asterisk is probably in extras-devel. You will only have command line interface though.

I think the best way is to do a sip trace to check why your device is not registering. Search in the wiki for more on that.

skype is working fine, in dubai they have blocked the voip but only fring/softphone is currently working.
my friends are using those two softwares and its working even when i log in to my account using fring.
but the normal nokia sip client is blocked.
so i was looking for a sip/voip client in which i can use my sipgate account

Does fring even use SIP (it's compatible with SIP, but I assume the SIP connection is handled on frings servers which are not in dubai; hance allowing the connections to work)?
I find it hard to believe that the Nokia SIP stack is blocked but a different one works. I assume all SIP accounts are blocked?

Have you tried setting up a google talk account and something like this to dial SIP accounts: http://gtalk2voip.blogspot.com/2006/...nes-hello.html
That "should" work for the same reason fring works with SIP accounts

Yeh you are right. SIP connection are handled on fring servers which are not in dubai. where as the normal nokia client connect to the dubai network. It's really annoying

bump?? anyone openvpn didnt work? as i cant set the router up to my settings and openvpn doesnt support 3g

some help please? any software like fring/softphone for n900?
