Go to Menu->Application Manager and, in the applications catalog, add VLC repository as follows:
- Catalog name: VLC
- Web address: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/maemo
- Distribution: fremantle
- Components: free
After that, you can find vlc in the list of downloadable apps.
So, rather than compiling the whole thing myself, I downloaded the debs. Am I correct that there is no sub support? If so, my only reason to have VLC installed has gone, as I was searching for an easier way to give myubtitles with her movies and VLC would enable her to do that without command line.
just name subs same as video file and use "j" key in mplayer to switch between subs
I tried it, only the sound works the video doesnt, it has no icon when it downloaded. I tried DiVx player direct download thru maemo browser, but can not get install, can anybody knows the problem.
i went to http://whoknowsmy.name/stuff/vlc/ but how do i download the files from that link? if i click on the link, it just open then file in the browser and shows me some funny symbols. if you can download it then can you please attached the files here so that i can download them directly?
Download all files to your PC then connect N900 to PC and copy to any folder on your phone.
Run xterminal forward to folder where you paste all files and then
Code:
dpkg -i *vlc*.deb
i tried to upload zip file here but for some reason its not uploading gives me an error.
