Hello all,

I am building a "DIY" video sound baby monitor using ethernet IP Network cameras... only thing is the Nxxx doesnt support Java or active X? anyone know of any ip cameras that work with the Nokia ANY models? Any help would be great....

Well from what I've seen the MicroB (Mozilla based) browser support MJPEG which will give you some options for "video". Sound I'm not sure about. I have connected to a friends Panasonic IP Web camera with MicroB and it offered up a usable image.

I have a panasonic IP camera just it doesnt support sound. Where can I get the microB installer for the Nokia700 series?

But I don't know much about the N770 as I came on board with an N800. I think you would have to be running the hacker edition first??

If you can use microb I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to stream the mjpeg data using mplayer and this is available for whatever edition of the software you're running.

You should check what formats the camera can output, and what formats mplayer will take as input, but these urls should give you some ideas:

streaming mjpeg via a fifo (as the mplayer decoder needs a file extension, I think there's a way to specify the stream type and therefore play directly but ask an mplayer guru):

On the 770 via a Linux box (to transcode to a format that mplayer can accept, you probably don't need to do this):
