So I've got a few PCs around my house (unconnected, most not even powered up though) but I use an macMini almost exclusively around the house. Any connection issues, or any problems there? I want to e able to stream music/videos from my mac to my n800. Any tips or tricks I should know?

It seems to me that since OS X & the N800 are linux based it should be a match made in heaven. But I'm usually wrong about these things.

Yeah sure, you have a variety of ways to access your os x computer. If you have samba turned on on the Mac, you can smbmount the drive from n800 and play the files from that inside a media player. Also, SSH is an option.

You can actually use Twonky to stream your video and audio from iTunes to any UPNP device. The only problem is the N800's supported formats, but h.264 is supposedly being implemented in 2008.

Well, you're wrong about OS X

It's based on BSD, not Linux.

Aflegg's mediaserv works great for on-demand transcoding. EyeConnect is good for pre-encoded stuff and music (Twonky is pretty craptastic).

True, but BSD and Linux could be called cousins. The way they work may be different, but the way you work with them is almost the same.

I usually use SSH to transfer things to my Nokia, and I'm sure you can do the same since you have a Mac. There's something called "Fuse" that has an SSH file system that I'd recommend for a Mac, so you can copy things to your Nokia from anywhere, but vice versa...

I've never done FUSE with the Nokia; it was easier to do Samba. So, your Mac will pretend to be a windows file server and your N800 will pretend to be a window's client... at least they will both be using the same software for it.

See just like I said.

Thanks for all the tips guys. if you've got one unlisted keep 'em coming.

EDIT: awww no other tips/tricks? I would love to hear what other OS X users who are N800 owners have to say.
