Buf after the rm command the hildon and the status menu will be replaced with the original version :/

    So ... do this :

    rm /etc/apt/preferences
    apt-get remove maemodder
    rm -r /opt/MaeModder
    dpkg -i patch/to/maemodder.deb

And try to do the hildon mod again ..
I'd like lo know the cause :/
    Tnx

PS: solved the dependencies problems? o.O
    Here is a better solution:

    nano /etc/apt/preferences

You will see 2 entries. Remove the second one (which doesn't have a header, that's why it's driving app manager crazy.), save the file. Restart the app manager if it's already open.

This way, App manager will be happy, and you won't lose your modified hildon thing.
    ??
    profit.

    Doesn't have e header? o.O
Explain me better... if i've understoopd good maybe the problem is in the procedure for removing the hildon ... :/

Maemodder delete only the first string of the 3 created for the pin ... i thought that there was no problem leaving some strings there...
    :/

In a broken /etc/apt/preferences, it looks like this:

    Pin: release a=unstable
    Pin-Priority: 1001
First entry is ok, but second one doesn't have a Package: string, so it doesn't belong to any package, it's completely unneeded and broken as I understood. So I just removed that entry, saved the file, and now both modified hildon and app manager works.

To make myself clear (since English is not my main language) the final preferences file looks like this:

    Dany-69,

Thank you for a brilliant application for N900. Truly amazing. I had the Advanced Hildon-Desktop installed, and at first your MAG-Hildon-Desktop did not work, kept failing with an error, so I went into Application Manager and removed Advanced Hildon-Desktop, then rebooted then tried your MAG HD again... and now it works perfectly. The kenetic scrolling on the menu and in the address book is incredible, so much faster than I had.

So far everything is working beautifully and have tried almost everything bar the WIFI switching.

    hi Dany-69,

first of all.. this is just AMAZING! i the best app anyone could ever have on their n900

just one recommendation. in ur app can you include the modest mod aswell? its an amazing mod which enables portrait mode in modest and also fixes some bugs.

once again.. thanks for this app/mod!
