That's how I got this far with it. My last phone worked just fine...then I was stupid and upgraded. I've gone from Authentication Failed to Transfer files only, to Connection to phone failed (my current error message). My phone will log it as having been connected, but I'll get the "Connection to phone failed" error a few seconds later. There's got to be some setting or a file somewhere in root that needs adjusting that I'm not thinking of.

I just tried turning the BT off and then back on again on my phone. It will show connected on the 770 for a quick few seconds and then drops like a rock without any error messages.

This may help...

1. Delete your saved bluetooth profiles if you have any from both devices.
2. Turn off both devices, then turn them back on.
3. Recreate the bt profile and try and connect to your phone through bluetooth. This will probably fail, but it's ok.
4. Set your phone and 770 to ALWAYS request pin confirmation.
5. Repeat step 2
6. Repeat step 3 and have your phone open ready to input pin. It may work this time.

This webpage has a list of compatible phones, and the LG VX8350 is not on it. Doesn't mean it won't work.

I DID IT BY GOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I did:

I did not change the /etc/ppp/options file...tried that and did not help
did ##3328873 "send" and the 000000 to make sure DUN was enabled
hacked the phone and changed the @dun.vzw3g.com to @vzw3g.com

And presto!
