try another wifi connection, or wait some time. or try to double-check it's using the correct catalog details.

well it could be your wireless connection, if you can't try connecting the n900 to the internet with some other method i'm not sure how to troubleshoot the catalogs failing to update.

"302 found"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_302

this is a proxy redirect, common problem for people i think
you have to use another connection method because app manager or whatever cannot understand the 302 found response

well, it's not necessarily from a proxy but that would be my guess, since your pc is running as a proxy i hope it's the cause

if you can obtain the .deb file it might install, but the .deb file can request some additional files and it will again try to connect to grab those.

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p.../g/gtranslate/

you can manually browse and download from the repository like that

but again, it might ask for something else and you will have to grab even more stuff.

i think if you click the .deb file from the phone it will open app manger and fail again, just use dpkg -i to install it instead. you will have to type that into the terminal.

can't you use another internet connection? or do you live in some country like china where everyone gets special fun rewards from the government.
