if i copy paste this (from post 1) into xterm:

    ~/MyDocs$ tar -xzvf wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz

    i get 'not found'
that's step 3... if the file is really there you should be able to hit tab to complete the name. also gotta unhook the usb first.

step 3 but the first part of text for me to copy/paste into xterm, hence part 1

so your saying that if i type cd MyDocs (hit enter)
    then hit 'tab'
    thats me done?

hitting tab didnt do anything but bring up a long list of strange words

    also tried copy/pasting this again
    ~/MyDocs$ tar -xzvf wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz
    and hitting 'tab'

    still nothing happened

also tried not putting ~/MyDocs$ in front of the file name but when i hit enter it just says cannot change ownership to uid 1000 lots of times, then it scrolls lots of similar lines for a while, then it says 'exiting due to previous errors'

    here is my code
    Code:
    /home/user/MyDocs/wl1251-maemo/binary/kernel-power # dpkg -i kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo46-wl1_armel.deb
    dpkg: regarding kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo46-wl1_armel.deb containing kernel-power:
     kernel-power conflicts with kernel-maemo
kernel-maemo (version 2.6.28-maemo19) is present and installed.
    dpkg: error processing kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo46-wl1_armel.deb (--install):
conflicting packages - not installing kernel-power
    Errors were encountered while processing:
     kernel-power_2.6.28-maemo46-wl1_armel.deb

For those of you finding aircrack-ng confusing, I've made a simple script to make it easier. I'm currently working on a gui but until then this will have to do.

    Here it is

The power46 kernel now fails to boot with the Guru mediation error. How do i restore this kernel? apt-get install --reinstall -y kernel-power kernel-power-flasher says I have it installed already and apt-get update fails with some freaking bad index files.

    good lord no
    "~/MyDocs$"
that is what your prompt should look like
it means be in that folder
    ~ is home folder
so first go to the right place
type "tar -xzvf wl" NOW HIT TAB
    OMG MAGIC
(it should have filled in the rest of the name)
    press enter

Hi there I could need some help one more time with the QBW script.
When I try to import Buffer to Beecon QBW shows me an "QBW wrong version"-error. And when I manually paste the script content to the command window under advanced, the script only executes until *sudo gainroot* and then only shows "Root Shell Enabled" instead of the injection state... (loaded or not)

Thx in advance for any help,

    Greetz,

    ..::J4ZZ::..

thats good info for people wanting to learn what the TAB key does, (and i have learned something new from it!)
but that not even my problem and never was in the first place, as im just copy pasting from the first post anyway

my problem was thinking this: ~/MyDocs$ was part of the command i had to type into xterm

anyway im still no further forward
still stuck on the first command:tar -xzvf wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz
gives me CANNOT CHANGE OWNERSHIP TO UID 1000
lots of times, then it pauses
then it does it all again (with the same errors)
    then it says:
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
    /home/user/MyDocs #

    the file.... wl1251-maemo-0.1.tar.gz
is in MyDocs cos i put it there

are there any 'working' tutorials anywhere for this?

    Christ.

You're extracting it on a vFAT partition and can't set permissions. If you can't understand simple file systems, I'd love to know why you need access to such a driver.

I can almost understand why Faheem blew his lid and left this place.
