Let me get this right: ITT's new site does not work on a brand-new n800 right out of the box, but that's not really a problem, because there's a workaround?
Okay, I know such a statement is true for just about everything else for the n800, but come on! If there's one thing an internet tablet should be able to display without issues, it's a website dedicated to internet tablets.
It's enough to tempt me to write a snarky n800 review, beginning with:

The new look is cool. I appreciate the thankless hours put into maintaining these forums, and agree that the perks y'all get are nothing compared to the effort you put in. But I'd say a minimum standard for this website is that it has to render properly on stock 770s and 800s, not just on some tablet that isn't even released yet.
Ooohhh... that's interesting! It might take a bit of getting used to, and I'm not sure I'll use it all the time - it's a bit of a cross between IRC and a forum! - but that's pretty neat! Careful it doesn't bring down your server!
If I had one request for the forums it would just be to limit the flash based ads to non-tablet devices. There is enough javascript, css, etc already that I always use the "classic" theme so a flash ad won't slow things down further. I know you can "disable" flash on the N series, but I do use it on other sites and prefer not to flip. I would imagine there is something in the user agent that could be keyed off of so that tablets are just given graphical adds.
Mmm, I like the new look. Is it me or is the text box that pops up when you click on 'Search' not showing at all though?
You're right - when clicking the Search button the floating search dialog appears but it's missing the text input field, it only shows the two radio buttons and the link to Advanced Search (this is with Firefox 2.0.0.8 on XP SP2 - "Search" seems to display correctly with IE7).
On a slightly related issue, the floating menus are all displaced far to the right of the associated menu buton, this is particularly noticeable with the thread-specific buttons, in particular "Display Modes" (this problem affects both Firefox and IE7).
The new look is great but get rid of the dark text and icons on the black background. It is very difficult to see even if I switch from the tablet to a computer with a 20 inch monitor. A little design tweaking and this site will look truly excellent.
