Hi!
I've noticed today, that my backlight of my keyboard das not work anymore. If I slide it out, nothing happens and the keyboards stays dark. My indicator LED (the one for signaling new sms etc.) is also dead. No sign of working.

I flashed complete new with pr1.3 my n900, but keyboard backlight and indicator led are still dead.

So, should I visit some nokia center, or is this an software issue?

I encountered this problem last night.

To fix the problem, I removed my battery for about 30 seconds then put it back in and booted the phone to find the notification light and keyboard backlight working again.

Hope this helps.

A known issue, in my case it comes from a test of FCam and its specific kernel driver.

The procedure to fix is strange: shutdown, remove battery, connect charger (LED flashs), disconnect, insert battery and power on.

I really wonder which software/hardware interaction has such a "permanent" effect (reboot does not solve), probably a bios/chipset status.

I had the same problem and it worked! :-)

I don't know if this is related, but I have multiboot installed with both the stock and the power kernel and after the first reboot I couldn't boot in the power kernel, I will reinstall it later...

Thanks a lot, guys!! I was thinking that my device needs repairing. I also really wonder what kind of problem could make permanent changes to the led status (even in the booting process).
