first- i am sorry if this is not the right place to post this.
lately i got my n900 and despite all warnings i started playing with it/
I've tried to add reboot button to the power menu with this guide:

but of course, something had to go wrong.
luckily i made the back up file as recommended in the guide.
the thing is- i don't know how to replace the original with this one.
when i try to make changes and save them in the original file through MC, it says dismissed or something.
now i only have the "phone" button on the power menu
any help? please?

Much easier way. ssh into your phone. Follow read me instructions here ( Files and read me in zip) For more info. go to power search and type reboot button and a whole list of help threads are available. Also, The Truly Epic Maemo 5 Mods Thread is a good source.
NB. I do not take any credit for this mod. It was made by someone else, but can't remember who at the moment. Sorry.

i used the one with filebox and leafpad.

I carefully edited the menu file but I kept getting duplicate entries on the menu. So I went back to the backup file and this what I have. (see attached pic)

Just to be sure I also got the file from another N900 but the duplicate entries remain.

Please Help. This is driving me nuts...

Post here how Your file (after opening with leafpad, for example) looks like.

Also please post the output of to look for duplicate files or containing folders with duplicate files.
