I managed to pull the usb port out of my n900 a couple of nights ago. The vodafone shop said I would have to pay to get it fixed and the nokia specialist said it couldn't be fixed. I've tried to put it on ebay but I have no credit card so I can't do that. I have all the original cables and box plus a spare stylus, a few screen protectors and a game gripper. Would it be worth a hundred and twenty euros to anyone? I'm in Ireland by the way.

maybe it cant be fixed, but it should be replaceable under warranty. have you pushed nokia on this issue? it is a design flaw, not a result of normal wear and tear.

Nokia does give 2 years warranty on the n900.

I'm sure the Nokia CEO once made a statement that the usb problem was covered by warranty, you gone have to search for the post...

i'm about to send my in for a different problem, as the Nokia repair centers were not able to fix the problem, so it needs to go back to the manufacturer.

We are aware of reports that under certain conditions, the micro-USB port of a very limited amount of Nokia N900 devices can be detached. Product quality is of utmost importance to Nokia and we are investigating this issue further. Consumers who experience this issue should contact their local Nokia customer care. The same warranty applies to the Nokia N900 as with any other Nokia device. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Don't you love Nokia-speak? It's like Nokia is from another planet.

How about: "Yes, the USB connector is utter crap. If your device is still under warranty we will fix it."
