Ok there is the community forum (which you have already been on)

I agree, there should also be an RSS feed,
your idea of threaded discussions has merit,

The problem is the community has a very widely varying set of personalities,
and it is maintained as a mostly volunteer effort -
- you will get a lot more traction if you compose your message
a little more diplomatically.

I would suggest that the thread you started there was a good one
and that it needs to be revisited.

Boring and tedious I recognize,
but progress is usually a work of patience.

a) The problem is that I tried diplomacy almost a full year ago (see the thread date in your link) without any traction. Nothing has changed. Hence my question regarding whom to address this issue.

b) Are you suggesting something is being done about this already?

You could have done it in a more pleasant tone, and it really isn't that hard to go to Contact Us -> Tick on the Site Feedback/Suggestion. If nothing happens then they're not interested.

use google to search the forums or view a specific thread cache.

google.com > type in the search textfield, site:talk.maemo.org "your keywords here"

I use it all the time

Not that I can point towards any hope whatsoever....

I was just looking at the community bugjars (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=37125&page=6) a few hours ago
(with much same frustrations you referred to in post#1)
and it is evident that tmo will languish just the way it is
for the indefinite future due to Nokia's abandonment of Maemo.
It takes real time and effort to incorporate the kinds of changes
that TMO deserves and that requires people who have the time.
You can make a website in a few hours,
but to do it well takes a lot of patience, continuity and evolution.
Nokia put a bullet in Maemo (3 days after I bought my first n900)
and that fairly well ends any further evolution for Maemo.

I doubt very much that anything will improve anytime soon.

The only way to get a real change is to fork your own version,
good luck with that.

Maybe you should just try the wiki, it usually has many important things avaible easily. If the wiki doesn't help, just use the power search, it searchs the whole maemo.org -site (including the wiki, but sometimes searching just the wiki is easier).
