    Maximum CPU temperature

    Hi all,

After my device randomly rebooted (running a time lapse photography application), my CPU temperature was 55' C which is about 127' F.

I am guessing that is relatively warm for it and that my application is using too much CPU power to run causing it to overheat and restart on its own.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Walter

I guess the restart mechanism is protect the N900 from frying its CPU..

Although i have seen mine go above 55 C one or twice with some heavy multitasking... So i think its normal.

Hmm okay, I guess that may not be it. I added in some sleep statements so my application isn't hogging the CPU as much. The temperature was at 43' C at the time it rebooted this time.

So I guess, the CPU temperature is not the reason my device is rebooting.

when mine charges via USB it heats up at 51C no idea why this only started happening after re-flash, am buying a new battery anyway since that seems to be the source of the heat

its not the CPU temperature, it's the battery temperature. so of course it goes up while charging and discharging...

perhabs its a app that makes the head

try to uninstall all unnecessary apps and try it again
and install a cpu utility like conky to watch the cpu speed and load

sometimes hildon-desktop or other system app have 100%load
