    Hi

Whenever I go to application manager, and click on Download button, it immediately go to checking for updates, please wait and a scroll bar running for long time

I dont want to check updates every time. Wheenver I feel updating, i will myself click on update button.

its really annoying if i want to install a application after 15 minutes or so after closing application manager, it again start checking for updates for all already installed application

You can change the updates check times

    go in x-terminal and type
    Code:
    root
    gconftool -g /apps/hildon/update-notifier/check_interval
The default values is 1440 (24 hours, one day)
    put a new value
    Code:
    gconftool -s --type int /apps/hildon/update-notifier/check_interval NEW_VALUE
ten days for example is 14400:

    Code:
    gconftool -s --type int /apps/hildon/update-notifier/check_interval 14400

Just for future reference, this information has been on the Wiki for, well, I think before I even got my N900.

thanks for your reply guys, but this is not issue; we dont get auto updates while connecting to the inernet, but asap you go to the download section in the app manager, or after install/uninstalling a package. its a nuissance, since each time it take a few minutes; imagine you want to install several packages, you have to wait between each install. plus i didnot find any batching method :/

Yeah i would recommend Faster Application Manager too... I was also annoyed by that so i now i use this It works really well and has more features, like installing multiple apps at once by marking them.
