I got my N800 almost 2 months ago, and it has never seemed to have a charging problem before. I installed the add-on that gives you more dimming options a few days ago, and set it to dim at 1 hour (I'm only mentioning this because it's the only thing I've changed recently, and it is the kind of thing that _could_ affect battery life).

Last night, I noticed my battery was down to "2 hours" of life. So I plugged in the N800 to charge. A few minutes later, it stopped charging for no reason, so I unplugged it, and plugged it back in. Then it set about charging again. I used it this way for a while, and then left it over night to charge (the other non-standard thing I did was I unintentionally left bluetooth on while it was charging). I suspected it might be related to the dimming time, so I set the dimming time to 5 mins (but left the screen shutdown time at 1 hour).

I just went to check on it ... and the battery icon indicated it was still charging, and down to _1_ hour of life. Charging all night, it went _down_ in stored power!?

I uninstalled the screen dimming extension, and am back at 5 mins for both settings. I also powered off and powered back on. Neither has helped.

Anyone seen anything like this before? And, is the projected estimated time at all calculated from the screen dimming settings? Anyone else who has installed the screen dimmer extension seeing anything like this?

Is it just that my battery is going flakey? or is something else going on?

Hm. Turns out to be the charger that's being a pain, not the battery nor the tablet.

(I have an identical charger for my nokia cell phone, so I tried charging the tablet there)

Guess I'll need to replace the charger.
